The DOST conceived SETUP to consolidate all technology transfer and commercialization efforts of the Department. SETUP is a nationwide strategy to encourage and assist MSMEs in adopting technological innovations. The program also aims to enhance operational efficiency and boost productivity and competitiveness, producing human resource that is adept on use of its skills, as well as operations that maximize efficiency. SETUP is DOST’s key strategy to stimulate investments in urban, sub-urban and rural areas. The services aim to increase competencies, efficiency and productivity of techno-based industries and stakeholders. The program focuses on assisting MSMEs through:
- Technology acquisition and upgrading
- Technology training
- Technology consultancy services
- Packaging and labelling services
- Testing and calibration services
- Networks and linkages for raw material sourcing, market, training, financing, equipment design and fabrication
